Join us for an exclusive tour and talk by the Hyde Park Estate Gardeners and award winning artists Tony Heywood and Alison Condie on Saturday 11th June. For one day only, they will host a talk commencing at the entrance to Coniston Gardens leading to The Water Gardens. 

The Water Gardens are home to Heywood and Condie’s pinnacle of delight, the jewelled floating garden sculptures. Floating in the water are Super Algal Bloom’s – miniature, unseen by the naked eye, aquatic life forms blown up in scale and laced in thousands of mirror-backed rhinestones, creating a magical effect on the surrounding water. The result is a celebration of microscopic interactivity’s unseen and vital hidden processes. Juxtaposed with the modernist architecture, the installation is a magical experience to see – a particular heron cannot get enough of it! The whole collection of Heywood and Condie rhinestone works varies from 2.5 metres to 50cms. 

Heywood and Condie, represented by Vigo Gallery, begin their talk in Coniston Gardens at midday. The talk offers an exclusive opportunity to hear about their gardening development, tips of the trade and how to nurture a greenhouse, as well as an insight into the inspiration behind the multijewelled Super Algal Bloom sculptures
