Village in Green: A brand-new botanical festival in the heart of London

We are so excited to announce the launch of Village in Green, a vibrant celebration of urban nature featuring a variety of gardening, botanical, and outdoor activities and experiences for all to enjoy.

From 7-8 June, coinciding with The National Garden Scheme, you’ll be spoilt for choice with a variety of activities and experiences throughout the village.

The main event will take place on 7 June in Oxford Square. Usually a private garden, Oxford Square will be opened to the public, inviting visitors to bring down a picnic rug and enjoy the live music and entertainment from 11am – 3pm. An incredible programme of free talks and workshops will take place:

  • 11am: Re-think houseplants with James Wong – You are invited to a fascinating discussion with broadcaster, botanist and best-selling author, James Wong, focusing in on how to re-think houseplants, create indoor habitats and unleash creativity in the process. Tickets are free and can be booked here
  • 12pm: A ‘Plant-To-Plate’ workshop – Featuring personal chef turned recipe developer and content creator, Natalia Rudin (@natsnourishments) and Cameron Macfie of The Conscious Gardening Co. Tickets are free and can be booked here 
  • 2pm: Grow Your Own with Martha Swales – Have a go at some simple grow your own projects with urban gardener and author Martha Swales (@marfskitchengarden). Martha will take you through all the steps, sharing her tips and tricks for making the most of whatever space you have to grow your own fresh produce including microgreens, herbs and windowsill garlic shoots to take home and enjoy. Tickets are £10 and can be booked in advance here

Other highlights include:

  • Access to charming private gardens: Oxford Square is set to welcome you on 7th June, offering a picturesque setting perfect for picnics. Guests can look forward to a vibrant atmosphere filled with live music and entertainment. The event will also feature a variety of pop-up food and beverage options, engaging workshops, and insightful talks.
  • Exclusive discounts and offers: Enjoy special promotions across the wonderful brands and boutiques in the village, making your visit even more delightful.
  • Limited edition botanical-themed products, food, and drink: Savor unique botanical-inspired dishes and beverages crafted especially for this event, and shop for exclusive botanical-themed products.

The new Village Green, located at the end of Kendal Street, offers a serene escape with biodiverse planting, outdoor seating, and natural stone paving. Surrounded by charming shops and cafes, it brings a refreshing touch of nature to the neighbourhood, enhancing the community experience for both visitors and residents
